Utu Man (63) A vase fell down

A vase fell down
and hit the floor
with momentary bitter
moan.

Painted musicians,
lutes and harps
were all smashed
into pieces.

Perhaps, the vase
had to break
to give tongue
to its dreaming instruments.

How else would the players
learn to make a sound,
trapped in their glazed
silence?
